How it works
Built consent-first, not as a disclaimer
Pass is always free
Every card can be passed, no questions asked. No penalties, no shaming, no forfeits for saying not that one — the next card just comes.
No ads, no strangers, no feeds
Afterdark only works with people already in the room. There's nothing to scroll, nothing to sell, and no one to meet except your own friends.
Privacy
Afterdark is built so that we cannot identify you. There is no sign-up form: no email, no name, no phone number, no password. Your phone gets a random identifier the first time you open the app, and that identifier is all we ever know you by.
What we store
- The random identifier itself.
- A yes/no flag saying you confirmed you're 18 or older, and the date.
- Your Premium subscription status, if you subscribe.
What never gets written down
Your comfort level, your pairing choices, your drink opt-in, your display name, the cards you were dealt — all of it lives in the memory of the game server while the room is open, and is destroyed when the room closes. Your settings are never shown to the other players.
What we never collect
No ads, no ad identifiers, no analytics, no trackers, no profiling, no contacts, no location, no photos. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers. Apple handles payments; your card details never reach us.
